VERTEBRATES

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/IT_y1jOoaXc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
(Speaking)
TEXT TO COMPLETE
WHAT ARE VERTEBRATES?
Vertebrates are animals with an internal skeleton made of_____________.
Vertebrates are the most advanced organisms on __________. The traits that make all of the animals in this section special are their spinal cords, vertebrae, and notochords.

WHERE DO VERTEBRATES LIVE?
Each living thing needs a _______. A  ____________ provides the food, ____________ and living space that each animal needs. _________ are many kind of habitats. For example, a fish may live in part of a sunken ship or a toucan may have a nest in a tree.

WHAT DO VERTEBRATES EAT?
Vertebrates have basic needs. They need _______, water and food. They can _________ only  in environments in which their needs can be met.
Some vertebrates eat only ________ for food while other vertebrates eat only animals. However some vertebrates eat _______ and _________. The three categories are carnivores, __________, and omnivores.

WHY ARE VERTEBRATES IMPORTANT TO THE ENVIRONMENT?
Every vertebrate belongs to a ___________________. They can be members of several _________ food chains. Which make a big web. Changes in a community or in the environment, cause changes in the food chain and through the webs __________.
You are member of your community . They way you live your life makes a big difference to many other living things.

WHAT ARE THE FIVE MAIN VERTEBRATES GROUPS?
First stop, there are __________. ____________ live in water and are the simplest _________ group. The three kind of fish are the jawless fish, cartilaginous fish and bony fish. Fish are cold-blooded, have scales and gills. Most of fish have fins .

The second group are _______________ . _______________ live part of their lifes in ______ and part out of it. They are cold-blooded, have moist skin, no scales and most young breathe through _________ and live in the water. They change into _______ gradually, which is known as ___________________ and breathe with _____________.
The ___________ group are _____________. They are more complex than fish or amphibians. Reptiles are ______________ and have dry scaly _________. Most have two pair of legs with five ________ on each leg excluding ____________.

The _____________ group are ___________. ______________ are vertebrates with ________ and ___________. And they are warm-blooded. They care for their ______ until they can find _________ and ____________ on their own.

Finally the last group of _____________ are ________________. _______________ are the most ______________ group of vertebrates. They have a body covered with hair or fur, are ________________, have more complex brains than other vertebrates and more complex ______ systems.

WHAT ARE OTHER TYPES OF VERTEBRATES?

(Listening, Speaking)
Ejemplo:
Animal pensado: MONKEY (a picture of this animal should be in the mural in Mural.ly)
Questions and answers:
Do they breathe through lungs?
Yes, they breathe lungs
Do they breathe through skin aswell?
No, they don´t breathe through skin
Do they fly?
No, they don't fly
Do they lay eggs?
No, they don´y
Do they like bananas?
Yes, they like bananas
Are they monkeys?
Yes, they are

Actividades interactivas (Reading, Writing)
