FINAL PROJECT: TOURISTIC PROMOTION

Promotion is an important tool for an enterprise which wants to have a good position in the market. Through the touristic promotion, people can know the services of the firm or touristic destiny.
The main learning outcomes and evaluation criteria for this unit are:
· To know the functions of touristic promotion.
· To learn about promotion tools in the touristic industry.
· To distinguish the main characteristics of each type of tool.
· To learn vocabulary linked to the topic.
Pupils can practice reading, speaking, listening and writing. They can also work some key competences and this topic connects with real examples that pupils can find in their real life.
Description of the classes.
Timing: Five sessions.
First session
To introduce the topic I will use brainstorming and questions with all the group to know the previous knowledges about the topic.
Then, they will watch the video: Tourism in Extremadura. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiF5mJe_WBs&list=PL8EB3863C2C4A29E9.
After that, students will make the following activities:
· Answer some questions about the video and work with the vocabulary that appears on it.
· Make a glossary with the words that have appeared on the video.

Second session
Reading texts about promotion.
Complete worksheets in which pupils should:
· Relate different examples with the correct instrument.
· Match photos with their labels.
· Relate pieces of writing with their pictures.
· Exchange different points of views.
The materials and resources used are: Merchandising materials, Brochures, Blackboard, Book and fotocopies.
Third session
Reading texts about promotion.
Complete worksheets in which pupils should:
· Complete texts with the missing words.
· Draw arrows.
· Exchange different points of views.
The materials and resources used are: Merchandising materials, Brochures, Blackboard, Book and fotocopies.
Fourth session
Make a summary to know if pupils have learnt the contents correctly.

Fifth session
Evaluation: Written test
Final task
Students will have to prepare a power point presentation showing touristic examples about promotion. They will work individually at home. Then, they will have to present their job to the rest of the class explaining their examples. In this way, they will learn vocabulary, reading, writing and will be able to demonstrate their skills and the knowledges learnt.
