Discovering Picasso



La unidad que he diseñado está pensada para llevarla a cabo con alumnado de 6º de primaria en la asignatura de Plástica. El tema seleccionado es Pablo Picasso y sus trabajos. Nos centraremos especialmente en las técnicas y en los periodos del artista. Aquí la tenéis.

Objectives
  • To explore and know the life of the artist Pablo Picasso.
  • To identify some of the techniques he used and the characteristics of his works.
  • To value the originality and the creativity as values of the artistic creation.
  • To value the English as a way of communicating ideas and of knowledge of the contents related to Picasso.

Contents
  • Use of the English language as instrument to reach new artistic knowledge.
  •  Viewing of a video that recreates the life of Picasso  and his beginnings in the world of the artistic creation.
  • Composition of an artistic piece recreating techniques of Pablo Picasso.
  • Exploration of the characteristics and techniques of some works of Pablo Picasso

  •  Watch a powerpoint presentation and video on Pablo Picasso's life
  • Complete a webquest on Pablo Picasso's life and works.
  • Learning about Pablo Picasso's work and vocabulary through LIMs
  • Create a  work of art using Picasso's techniques.

Methodology

4 sessions of 60 minutes each
Session 1
Introduction of the life of Pablo Picasso (Video and webquest)
Session 2
The work of Pablo Picasso with special attention to the portraits and self-portraits
Vocabulary related to the artistic techniques to use in the accomplishment of the portrait
Session 3
Accomplishment of a sketch of a portrait of a figure chosen by the students using some of the techniques used by Picasso.
Beginning of the accomplishment of the artistic creation.
Session 4
Accomplishment and presentation of their artistic creation.

The methodology will be active and participatory. It will try to involve all the students in the class taking into account their educational needs.

  • To create a portrait in an autonomous way following the works of Pablo Picasso as model.
  • To identify some of the characteristics of the works and of the techniques used in his portraits.
  • To value the English language as instrument of communication to reach new artistic knowledge.
  • To show respect towards the foreign opinions and towards the works produced by the friends.
  • To work in group for the attainment of common goals.
  • To use adequately the technologies of the information and communication.


Evaluation instruments
  • Direct observation of the work with special attention to the effort and interest.
  • Analysis of the presented works.
  • Self-evaluation and co-evaluation.

Me gusta mucho la unidad AICLE que has diseñado, el tema me parece muy motivador para niños de 6º de Primaria, es una gran idea explicar la asignatura de plástica tomando como referencia un gran artista como es Picasso. Me han gustado mucho las actividades que has creado con educaplay. Y como broche final el crear una obra basándose en las técnicas de Picasso es una gran idea y muy motivadora para los alumnos. Enhorabuena!

  3. Interesante propuesta y bien desarrollada. Es importante que los niños y niñas conozcan y se familiaricen con nuestros artistas plásticos, y más si son de la talla de Picasso.
